I feel that there is something so bizarre and strange about this but can't quite put my finger on what's the?

right term for this kind of behaviour. A relative of mine in her early years tells a story about her mother, that she had been "accosted" by a man this relative had worked with - he apparently took his privates out and put it in her hand. This relative then as payback took her hat pin and stuck this man in the backside with it as far as it could go in defense of her mother who should have known how to handle the situation without getting her daughter involved. Yet when this relative had her own daughters, she did nothing to support them or help them when they were molested by her second husband and ended up blaming the daughters for the molestation (which they were definitely not responsible for). Any insight here??
