If you have some time up your sleeve, you can put the chicken in frozen, add some warm water, to fill up 3/4 of the pot,add a stock cube, a diced onion, 3 bayleaves, a clove of garlic, 1 chopped carrot, 1 parsnip chopped and a few potatoes, and a cup of white wine, put the lid on, switch on to high for 3 hours then slow down to low for 6 hours then you will have a basic tasty meal, have some mash potates and nice warm crusty bread with it!
